Thunderbird is an open source program that is available as a free download, it is used primarily as an email client but can also be used to stream and read news and as a chat client. Thunderbird is based on the Firefox program, which is the third most widely used web browse in the world, followed by Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer. The Thunderbird email client was created by Mozilla, the makers of the Firefox internet browser.
